Blokada 5.14 now stable

Hi everyone, I hope you are well!

The updates

As per our release schedule, today we are releasing the following updates:

  • Blokada 5.14 for Android (stable) →
    • blokada.org (available)
    • Google Play (in review)
    • Huawei App Gallery (in review)
    • Samsung App Galaxy Store Gallery (in review)

Blokada 5.14 for Android

This release introduces a new blocklist: d3Host, and adds wildcard options for 1Hosts.

Another important change is improved detection of WiFi and mobile networks, that should address the issues some users have been experiencing with misdirected network configurations.

We also fixed some problems with parsing wildcard lists.

As usual we updated the blocklists, and translations. We also made some minor bugfixes. More in the changelog.

Keep the feedback coming, and enjoy using Blokada!

Hey, just updated the latest patch. Tried to look for the version in-app but couldn’t find any.
On the other hand, my Blokada is consuming the memory rather extensively. I’ll upload a screenshot here.

Hello buddy, where did you download Blokada from and what version is it? Is it from an official source like blokada.org and F-droid

I received an update notification from Huawei AppGallery, I think you consider that as an official source right?

How do I check version in the app?

Excuse me, why isn’t the Energized > Ultimate Blocklist placed in the default position of Blokada? Before I update to this new version, I want to make sure that all the Energized Pack especially Energized Ultimate are functioning well with Blokada. Since that update that knocked away Energized Blocklist from the default blocklist position, I have faced many insane issues with the download and activation process of Energized Ultimate (as described in my previous list of bugs and requests) every time I update Blokada. And that has literally caused me too much disappointment and madness, excuse me

We downgraded Energized since there was some issues with regular updates upstream. We may change it back to the highlighted lists if you feel that’s justifiable. We recommend OISD as the default these days.

OSID offers a way degraded privacy that doesn’t befit the purpose of Blokada. It is recommended to return the Energized pack to the default position especially the undisputed Energized Ultimate as soon as possible. Energized Ultimate used to work absoulely great with my huawei nova 5T device and android 10 system. I only started facing errors and inconvienience when Energized was knocked away and the OSID became the default blocklist of Blokada

Regarding the blocklists, take Steven Black for example.
There are:
Unified
Fake News
Porn
Social
Gambling

Is Unified = Fake News, Porn, Social, Gambling

Or they are all totally different lists? This question applies to all other Blocklists?

They are all maintained by different teams, but there is quite a lot of overlap on many of them. Each team has its own strategy on inclusion rules and update frequency.
