Introducing 1Hosts blocklist

Starting with Blokada 5 v5.13, and Blokada 4 v4.13, a new blocklist is available in Blokada: 1Hosts.

What is it?

This is a general purpose blocklist with various configurations providing various levels of blocking. We introduce two configurations to our app: Light and Pro. We recommend you try Light first, and if it’s not blocking enough, then switch to Pro, which is more restrictive.

How to use it?

In order to activate it on Android (Blokada 5):

  • Open “Advanced” tab
  • Tap “Blocklists”, then “All”
  • Find “1Hosts” , and activate it

In order to activate it on Android (Blokada 4):

  • Open the bottom menu
  • Navigate to Adblocking → Host Lists
  • Find “1Hosts”, and activate it

In order to activate it on iOS:

  • Open “Advanced” tab, then “All”
  • Find “1Hosts”, and activate it

I still don’t understand its functionality. I just know it’s by the host. What exactly does it do?

You can add wildcard list for 1Hosts Xtra in blokada 5 it’s best alternative to energized Ultimate

I am also wondering why the Team never opted for the wildcards variants.
They are small but have the same/more blocking power as/than their counterparts.

Like every blocklist, it’s useful for configuring your adblocking on your device. It compiles several different sources to provide you with a mix of good adblocking, but not too restrictive one. The best is to try out various blocklists in the app and see which one works the best for you.

If you add wildcard for 1Hosts please add 1Hosts Xtra also

Xtra (wildcards) blocks everything, even bank cards payments, other than in some apps it blocks the connection entirely…

Very strong AdBlock choice!!!

Hey! In my opinion, this looks good. It is also possible to change which connection you are allowing or blocking.
