[Solved] A connectivity issue with Blokada 5.9

Works as long as I use Cloudflare, If I use Blokada dns I loose Internet connectivity.

Try cloudfire with encryption ON. It might not work there too if you’re on Android 11.

@Karol got the updates on iOS. Works very well with the default setup dns like before so far.

Reg cloud flare - I have no qualms unless you or anyone can enlighten me why I should choose any other dns than cloudflare. Am new to this so would love an explanation of pros/cons. Do you have any documentation on it Karol ?

Also, I use free version but request Blokada devs - don’t use this free version to push untested functionality! We rely on this app with data privacy protection ; so be careful of adding new updates that breaks our trust.

We never did and will never do.
In fact there’s no dedicated “paid” version. It’s all the same.

How does a DNS server block ads?

In Blokada, you can select a third-party DNS provider, that is used by your device instead of the default setting. To understand how DNS works, please check this article. Which content can be blocked? Some DNS services also provide the possibility to block specific content. The content blocked varies. There are DNS servers that only block ads and tracking. There are servers that specialized on keeping the browsing experience family-friendly. And there are servers that shall protect you from…

Likely I misunderstood that with Blokada plus which is a vpn. Good to hear about Blokada. So far working pretty well for my needs.

5.8 has been working fine on Android 11 up until a week ago.
You made a change to your infrastructure and now try to blame the “newness” Android 11.
Android 11 is not new. Beta released began a year ago, production 6 months ago.
I’ll be using a different product from now on.
