Rethinking VPN Proxies in Blokada: A Call for Flexibility

As a user of Blokada, I’ve enjoyed the app’s ad-blocking features and its promise of enhanced online privacy. However, one area that has been a source of frustration for me is the VPN proxy service offered by Blokada. I believe it’s time for the Blokada team to reconsider their approach to VPN usage and offer users more flexibility.

The Challenge with Blokada’s VPN Proxies

When I connect to the Blokada VPN, my internet speeds drop significantly. With a 1GB download speed, I find myself capped at a mere 50 Mbps when using their VPN proxies. This slow performance is not just inconvenient; it hampers my overall online experience and productivity. In a world where speed is essential, such limitations can be frustrating.

The Need for Choice

Many users, like myself, have premium VPN subscriptions that provide faster and more reliable connections. It’s disheartening to be forced to use a slow proxy service when there are better alternatives available. I urge Blokada to consider allowing users to connect to their preferred VPN providers. This change would not only improve user satisfaction but also enhance the overall value of the Blokada service.

Blokada has the potential to be a standout tool for privacy-conscious users, but the current VPN proxy limitations are a significant drawback. By giving users the option to use their own VPN subscriptions, Blokada could create a more versatile and effective solution for its community. I hope the team will take this feedback into consideration and prioritize user choice in future updates.
