Blokada 6 for Android Unable to Block Admiral Anti-Adblock?

Where did you download Blokada from?
I downloaded Blokada 6 from the official Google Play store.

Which device do you use? Do you use a custom ROM? Do you know which OS version you are using?
I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra running on Android 14. One UI version is 6.1, as seen in the screenshots. I am not using a custom ROM; this is the official firmware provided by Samsung.

Please explain the issue as detailed as possible. Also include patterns you observed (like ‘it only happens on wifi’). The more information the better.
I’m encountering an issue with the Admiral anti-adblock system that appears on various websites. Despite using Blokada 6, these Admiral-powered pop-ups still appear, prompting me to disable my ad blocker. This happens both on mobile data and Wi-Fi networks, which indicates it’s not network-specific.

I’ve checked through several websites, including those known to use Admiral’s anti-adblock measures, and none are being blocked successfully by Blokada 6. I have seen discussions about this issue on AdGuard forums, but there is no clear information on how to address it using Blokada. I’m looking for guidance or a potential filter list that can effectively block these pop-ups.

Since when are you facing this issue?
The issue has been persistent for a few months but has become more noticeable since July 1, 2024.

Did you already try to solve the issue somehow? If so: please state what you did.
Yes, I have tried various troubleshooting steps, including clearing the cache and data for Blokada, ensuring all filter lists are up-to-date, and testing with different browsers. However, the Admiral anti-adblock prompts continue to bypass the filtering measures in place.

Additional Information:

Blokada Version: 24.3.43

Storage and network data usage for Blokada indicate the app is actively functioning.

I noticed this issue occurs on popular websites that employ Admiral’s anti-adblock technology. It seems to be a known issue with ad-blocking tools, yet there is limited information about Blokada’s ability to handle this specific anti-adblock method.

Looking forward to any assistance or updates on new filter lists that can address this issue. Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for providing detailed information about the issue you’re facing with anti-adblock systems. I understand how frustrating it can be with these pop-ups.

As a temporary workaround, you may want to add some triggering domains to be exempted from the filtering. This will allow certain websites to load previously blocked content, potentially preventing the anti-adblock prompts from interfering with your browsing experience. To do this, view the recently blocked entries in Activity, then experiment with adding suspicious blocked entries as allowed exception.

There seems to also exist a few browser extensions specifically designed for disabling Admiral, for example this one.
