Title: Adblocking not working with blokada in any phones of Realme Ui
Info: Tested it on Realme 6 pro and Realme 7. Both failed to block ads.
Where did you download Blokada from?
Official website
Which device do you use? Do you use a custom ROM? Do you know which OS version you are using?
Realme Ui 1.0, Realme 6 pro and Realme 7
Please explain the issue as detailed as possible. Also include patterns you observed (like ‘it only happens on wifi’). The more information the better.
Adblocking is not working for any kind of ads including Google ads, I was able to block ads only once in all my time using it. I’ve tried enabling disabling private dns in Android settings, alternative dns answer in blokada settings, the one time it worked was with alternative dns answer enabled and dns set to adguard dns, but later it stopped blocking ads.
Since when are you facing this issue?
Since I bought the phone, from March
Did you already try to solve the issue somehow? If so: please state what you did.
I tried different settings and host lists, it didn’t work, the one time it worked is mentioned in point 3.
Hi,
Disable Private DNS. Keep it that way.
Enable Alternative DNS answer in DNS settings in Blokada
Clear every apps’ cache (except Blokada)
Remove apps from bypass list if you see ads in bypassed apps. Keep in mind it may causes malfunctions in the app (for example, syncing won’t work).
The AdGuard DNS is a DNS server that blocks ads. We, Blokada, has no effect on their service, thus, they block what they want.
I tried what you said, it seems chrome based applications are showing ads, but ads are blocked in others,
Private dns is set to off, data saver is disabled, I’m using the default host list and jerryn with adguard dns, there is no setting like async dns resolver in Chrome, how should I block ads in Chrome, as adguard dns was previously blocking ads in Chrome in other roms
Just for clarification: AdGuard DNS will block as much ads on one phone as on an other. They might add new hostnames to their block lists, they might remove a few, but generally if the number of blocked hosts doesn’t change on the DNS server, it will block the same number of ads and trackers on every device, as your primary DNS resolver if the given DNS server.
So, if you feel that even AdGuard blocks less ads on your device as it did earlier, my impression is that you got a virus or a malware, or the “alternative DNS answer” isn’t enabled in Blokada.
