Amazon Prime Video rejects VPNs

Hello,
to make posting more easy, we created a guideline for you:
Please always include which platform you are on: Android or iOS. If you have a question about features feel welcome to ask it - if you face a problem, please follow this template:

Title: please select a meaningful title!
e.g. Blokada for Android doesn’t block ads in my-little-farm-animals app

To directly help you the best way possible please provide the following information:

  1. Where did you download Blokada from? Android Play Store
  2. Which device do you use? Google Pixel 8 Pro Do you use a custom ROM? Vanilla ROM. Do you know which OS version you are using? Android 15.
  3. Please explain the issue as detailed as possible. Also include patterns you observed (like ‘it only happens on wifi’). The more information the better. Other Amazon apps run fine with Blokada 6 Cloud, Los Angeles VPN. However, if Prime Video Android app is launched an error message displays VPN or Ad-Blocker is detected. Disabled or quit the VPN and/or the Ad-Blocker then start Prime Video.
  4. Since when are you facing this issue? It started when Prime Video added “limited advertising” during streaming video. Fast Forward and other media controls are disabled during advertising messages.
  5. Did you already try to solve the issue somehow? Closed Prime Video app. Cleared cache. No obvious clue in Blokada log at the time of the Prime Video launch error If so: please state what you did. If previous error repeated at app launch Shut Down Restart Android. Disabled Blokada before launching Prime Video. Video streams then work properly. NOTE: I ensure to not use any other app until exiting Prime Video then activating Blokada. I suspect this is entirely a Prime Video issue much like YouTube streaming ads embedded in the application code. Reported as an FYI. To

Hello, thanks for reporting. Unfortunately, as you have noticed, this is a known issue with this site, they have been successfully detecting VPN connections for years. From what I see on Reddit, some people are trying to bypass this by accessing the site via browser, but I am not sure if it still works.
