New configs have the same IP

Everytime I download a new config, it gives me the same IP. 5.181.233.198

So beside blocklists, what is this good for if my aim is privacy? User tracking is extremely efficient, even with changing OS completely, changing vpn config, creating a new account on a website, using strong privacy focused browsers… Because of that, they still know who I am. Good way to know, is how fast reddit will ban my account (because they are a powerful user data farming machine, and they know it’s ban evasion). How… how can they possibly know?

So here goes the question. Is there a way to get a different IP?

Hi, what you’re seeing is expected. Blokada uses shared endpoints, so you may get the same IP when downloading a config. It’s not designed to provide constantly rotating or unique IP addresses per user. Also, sharing an IP with many users is actually a privacy advantage. It helps you blend into a larger group, making it harder to single out your activity. If every user had a unique IP, tracking individuals would be much easier.

Regarding tracking: IP address is only one of many signals. Services like Reddit use multiple techniques (cookies, browser/device fingerprinting, account behavior, etc.), so changing IP alone will not make you anonymous or prevent detection.
At the moment, there’s no option to manually rotate or request a different IP on demand.

OK got it. But how can they know then? The only other way I can think of is if they can get hardwares IDs.

I changed from Windows to Linux. I created a new account. I only connected using a vpn. How? If it’s not hardwares, it has to be the connection.

Switching to Linux doesn’t save you because websites (especially one as big as Reddit) now use Browser Fingerprinting to map how your specific GPU and fonts render graphics, creating a unique signature that ignores your OS. They also track Behavioral Biometrics, like your typing rhythm and mouse curves. Even through a tunnel, TCP/IP Fingerprinting identify your hardware’s specific network behavior.

Yeah, after talking I don’t know how long to chatgpt, it seems they focus alot on humans behavior instead of our machines.

I only use Brave or Librewolf though. I thought I was saved from that. I set the settings accordingly. No webgl, wiping data at exit, cant use my fonts, round corners… I know of other solutions, but it’s not worth the effort just so I can tell 75iq brainwashed idiots their truths lol

So what’s the point of a VPN (without blocklists, because that’s very usefull)? The main selling point is privacy… but people stay connected to their data, and only use services from the giants (instagram, tiktok…). What the hell is the point of a VPN for those people? From how companies sell their products, it seems like they target that kind of clients, but they are the ones needing it the least…

While the VPN handles the “journey” by hiding your IP address from your ISP and hackers, it can’t stop a site like Instagram from recognizing you once you log in. When you log in, you’re choosing to show your ID, but with VPN you’re basically choosing who gets to know your name, rather than letting your ISP and every random tracker watch everything you do.
