How to identify the application whose request is blocked

For some time now, I’ve been occasionally seeing a brief, oval notification at the bottom of my display concerning some blocked communication. It disappears very quickly, and I can’t find it anywhere afterwards, nor can I manage to take a screenshot.

I uninstalled Blokada v4 and installed v5 hoping to resolve this, thinking v4 was outdated, but this did not help; the notification still appears occasionally.

In the Blokada v5 application, on the Activity tab, I found a red log entry about the blocking, which likely corresponds to that fleeting notification. However, I can only see the URL (the blocked address) and nothing more.

How can I determine which specific application is attempting to reach this blocked address? I need to know the source application (or package name) to investigate it further.

Thank you in advance for your response/help.

Hi, FYI Blokada 5 is also quite old, and we stopped developing it a few years ago (we’re just updating the blocklists). The latest version is Blokada 6, which you can download directly from the Play Store: https://go.blokada.org/play/v6
You need a subscription to use it, but we offer a free one-week trial, which I can extend for you if you think it’s too short

Returning to your question, there’s no direct way to determine which app is responsible for a given request. If you’d like, share this address with me, and I might be able to track down the app responsible. If you don’t want to do this publicly, you can send me a private message.
