I have downloaded version 5.9.0 blokada from blokada.org and checked the apk file from virustotal.com 1 engine (Symantec Mobile Insight) says it is unsafe.

Just as a quick reminder:
That’s one out of 64 engines.
We’ll look into this nonetheless but it seems like Symantec might pick up on the in-built adblocking list. This can happen but does not mean that something contains malware. It’s just how antivirus solutions work these days: Based on behaviour and generic scanning.
Blokada is fully open source. We simply cannot hide anything so everyone would already know if we tempered with the application
