What is Blokada Cloud?

I set up cloud on my Chromebook-took a couple of hours to troubleshoot but working very well now. From what I’m reading, do I still need to run the blokada app to enable the blokada VPN? (but run 0 blocklists?) Same for Android? Will that be fixed in the future? (I’m probably not up to messing with wireguard). In Cloud, does using several blocklists reduce performance? Thank you!

Yes, that is correct.
It is however not a big deal.
Just download the official Wireguard client and import your individual wireguard config file which you can create over at app.blokada.org
There will be an app update at a later date.
Using multiple blocklists on cloud isn’t an issue anymore.
It’s our servers which run the lists not your device.

While running blokada cloud (chromebook and android), and having the app set to Blokada DNS, if I deactivate the app, does the VPN remain active? Thank you. (FYI: LOVE blokada cloud!) Great job!

Hi team, is the intent to eventually be able to manage separate blocklists/exceptions per device? For example i don’t wish to have the same rules on both my phone and PC. Thank you!

Hello,

It’s an interesting feature request.
What is the reason that you want it to be different on the PC vs the phone?

Hi thanks for the quick reply,

In a sense - not one size fits all. For example say i have 2 phones and a PC:
1 phone for managing a small business with social media etc.
1 for personal use where i want to allow or deny certain requests, but not the same as the business device
and the PC could be for gaming or say for studying where i want to allow or deny a different set of request.

These are all just examples but there would be countless other cases as well.

Thoughts? Thank you again for your time.

Could one use case be blocking social domains on one device and not blocking them on the other?
That’s what I’d think of

I agree more flexibility could be nice to have in some use cases, we’ll note it on our (long) list of things  thanks for the feedback!

Hola gracias por la información

Hello, I try to inform myself about Blokada. I wonder why you don’t provide any information about pricing. There is nothing on your official website and here in the forum there are no or unclear answers if asked for pricing details.

Not to come across wrong, I’m fine if I have to pay for a service. I just think that when it comes to money, there should be no hanky-panky, but a straight talk.

Hello, when you download the app the correct price will be displayed for your region. Prices are slightly different in different countries and Blokada Cloud is only available through in-app purchases, this is why it’s not displayed anywhere else.

Blokada Cloud is usually a bit below USD $20 equivalent annually, so less than $2 if calculated monthly.

For Blokada Plus, you can also make the purchase on our web dashboard: app.blokada.org

Unfortunately, this is exactly what I mean by inaccurate information. When I look in Google’s Playstore, I see InApp costs of at least 84€ per year. At least I expect such information directly in the information about the service.

If Google does not offer app operators the possibility to see what the app costs, then this is at least a great pity.

As far as I can tell, your screenshot says there are offers available from 6.99€ to 69.99€.
The Blokada Cloud offer which this article is about is around 20€ annually in that range.

The other offers are for the monthly or annual Blokada Plus subscriptions.

Not sure where you got the “at least 84€” from?

84€ ~ 12*6,99€

Anyway, just take it as a suggestion that some transparency in the pricing of your service would do you good.
After all, 20€ per year is less daunting than 84€, but 20€ is not mentioned anywhere.

The yearly subscription to Blokada Plus offers a discount applied automatically of roughly 17%. (more or less)

6.99€*12×83%=69.6.

Please keep in mind that by paying for Blokada Plus, you have access to Blokada Cloud by default.

Plus= Adblocking + VPN
