Should I use Blokada DNS on Blokada Plus?

I’m using v5.2 on my Samsung A70 (Android 10).
When I connect to Blokada Plus, it is suggested to use Blokada DNS. After checking www.ipleak.net I see several DNS servers. Is this splitting good or bad for privacy? I always thought sticking to one no log DNS server was the best solution.

It is recommended, it’s faster than to use DoH DNS servers. Could you attach a screenshot of your ipleak results?

Thanks. This indeed does not look correct. Thanks for reporting it! We are looking into it and will make a fix. I’ll let you know in a few days.

At least privacy wise, someone will still not figure out where you’re from

You should now only see the location that you are connected to

Perfect! Thank you. :+1:t2:

Wow! That’s smooth. Does your DNS have any filters installed? And I suppose you don’t log.

It’s just a standard resolver right now to remove the dependency of a 3rd party (Cloudflare is the current default) as well as improve the performance to Plus users where you won’t need an extra hop outside of the Blokada network.

The future plan is to gradually add features such as a default filters list as well as make it available to Libre (non-plus) users with slightly different settings.
Oh and did we mention using Blokada DNS already unblocks Netflix for Plus users?

Of course there are no global logs of what our users query for. We do however plan to implement a feature which allows you to see your personal statistics of queries that hit the DNS. This will allow us to develop a web app with the full Blokada experience on all of your devices.

Blokada will never process, share or sell this information other than what is technically required for you to have access to this information.

However it’s still in beta and things will change as we move ahead.

I didn’t know about Netflix. Great! I’ll try it out and let you know. Thanks anyway for this load of information.
