IOS - Blokada doesn’t seem to start automatically?

in the last month or so I’ve noticed Blokada doesn’t seem to work unless I launch the app first. I’m currently on iOS 26.6 (iPhone 15) and I have Blokada as my DNS provider.

For example, I go to Oregon campground closed following aggressive bear behavior - oregonlive.com and see ads. I open the Blokada app, refresh the page, and the ads disappear.

I’ve captured a log and am happy to share privately.

Did Apple break Blokada somehow?
